“That’s the news from Lake Wobegon, where all the women are strong, all the men are good-looking, and all the children are above average.”
If you’re familiar with this line, chances are you’ve enjoyed the work of Garrison Keillor—radio personality, writer, and American storyteller.
Keillor is best known for his live variety show, The Prairie Home Companion, which has been featured on public radio stations since 1974. The show features skits, musical performances, humorous advertisements for false products, and of course, Keillor’s well-loved “News from Lake Wobegon” monologue.
Keillor will perform solo at the Peace Center on Thursday, March 12, combining songs with his signature storytelling style.
If you’re a fan of Keillor’s homegrown humor, you won’t want to miss this show. Tickets start at $55 and are available on the Peace Center website.
