I’m excited to bring you a quick end-of-year market update for Greenville real estate. Here are the numbers you should know.
Our median price in Greenville is up by 8.1% through the end of November. This means that a house that was worth $192,500 this time last year is now worth $208,000.
The number of units sold was also up by 6.9% from this time last year. The number rose from 11,558 to 12,352.
Another indicator of what the market is doing is our days on market. In 2017, we had an average of 54 days on market. This year, we’re seeing an average of 52 days.
As for active listings, we currently have 4,379, which is up slightly from the 4,355 we saw at this time last year.
Finally, I wanted to make a point about winter home selling. Many people are under the impression that this is a bad time to sell a house, but the opposite is true.
Last year, we saw 954 home sales in November and 1,034 in December. There is more traffic during the spring, but that means more competition and less serious buyers. Those buyers in the marketplace right now and at the beginning of the year are all serious and all chomping at the bit for a great home like yours.
That’s all we’ve got for you today. If you have any questions or need any assistance in the meantime, don’t hesitate to give me a call or send me an email. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
